Podcast Review/Analysation
Presenters, Structure, Style, Pace & Age:
Any strict structure for the Elite Cosplay podcast was seemingly thrown out the window as soon as they podcast's presenters started talking. This was because any attempt of welcoming the listener was interrupted by a presenter bringing up his pre planned joke. This immediately contrasted to the start of the Flix Watcher podcast which started with a short and sweet classical jingle to segway the listener into the podcast.
The two presenters for the Elite Cosplay are in a relationship with each other and thus, they had a very good chemistry between them though this resulted in the ever so silent listener feeling a small bit excluded as many instances seemed to contain in-jokes that the viewer was unable to understand. The three presenters for the the Flix Watcher podcast had a friendly chemistry but didn't manage to one up the other podcast in making the listener feel involved.
Though the Flix Watcher was the more professional podcast at the start, they were stopped by a prerecorded introduction to the podcast. This introduction itself was professional but halted the original flow of the podcast. Nothing prerecorded was used in the Elite Cosplay podcast and this created a feeling of being unprepared. So far, I was enjoying the Flix Watcher podcast more than it's counterpart.
Music, Jingles, Sound effects & Stingers:
No music was included in the Elite podcast but the previously mentioned made me fairly excited for the rest of the podcast. 10 Points to Flix Watchers
Guests, Interviews, Vox Pops & Clips:
The Flix Watchers Podcast had a prerecorded introduction with all presenters involved but nothing else. The Elite Cosplay Podcast had a small mentioning of a man questioning their Cosplay but nothing more.
Target Audience, Appeal & Social Media:
Both Podcasts had a connection with social media as neither of them failed to mention their twitter accounts where questions could be asked. However, the Elite Cosplay Podcast started off their show by replying to comments from listeners and fan from their previous episode of the podcast. This created a feeling that they had a real following and connection with their fans.
The target audience of the Elite Cosplay Podcast seemed to be Cosplayers like themselves whereas the Flix Watchers Podcast had a broader audience in the uk by targeting any fans of watching movies available in the uk, meaning they had a potential audience of 7.5 million uk netflix users.
Overall, I preferred listening to the Flix Watchers Podcast for their near professionalism and subjects that appealed to me. I'm sure the Elite Cosplay Podcast would be enjoyable for cosplayers but it's not for me.

7. Constant theme:
Changing themes of the podcast will result in listeners leaving as the podcast they subscribed to has changed from what it was when they subscribed. This could very much work in the other hand though as it may drive a new flow of listeners to the podcast.
10. Audio friendly:
Having lots of commotion and shenanigans going on will leave the listener on the outside even if there's someone describing the action. Podcasts are supposed to be talk shows without a need to use your eyes, so don't make the listener want to use their eyes.

10 Tips
to create a successful podcast
1. Preplanned introduction:
A preplanned introduction will make audiences instantly familiar with your product and will help listeners figure out easily what the podcast is about.
2. Clear sections of your podcast for separate topics:
Separating a podcast into chapters or sections will be helpful for listeners as not everyone will have the time or strength to listen for an hour or more in one sitting. Sections will make it easy for the listener to leave and comeback with ease.
3. Good reach with your audience:
Communication with the audience is key, as is a place for them to approve or complain about changes to the podcast or the podcast in general. People letting you know how to make the podcast better is something helpful for you to improve.
4. Specific target audience:
Aiming to catch the ears of everyone will lead you to attract nobody to your product. A specific and clear audience will be more likely to tune into your podcast week after week if it's tailored to them.
5. Small and catchy Jingle:
A catchy tune to stay in your mind and subconsciously attract you to listen to the next episode of the podcast is insanely helpful to keep viewers coming back. The Off Topic podcast whistle tune instantly comes to mind whenever a podcast enters conversation and I'll never be able to forget such a small but catchy blurb.
6. Certain & dedicated lengths:
If a viewer sees the most recent episode of your podcast is 90 minuted long whereas last episode only lasted 60 minutes then they're likely to turn away.
7. Constant theme:
Changing themes of the podcast will result in listeners leaving as the podcast they subscribed to has changed from what it was when they subscribed. This could very much work in the other hand though as it may drive a new flow of listeners to the podcast.
8. Permanent presenters:
A presenter may be what attracts fans to a product so changing them too much will, not only make a gap of knowing each other between the fans and the presenters but, may make the audience feel unfamiliar with the product and stop listening to the podcast as it's changing from what they thought it was.

9. Decent equipment:
A poor microphone will always push me away from any podcast. Invest and it will pay off.

Sound Script - Seb Ward - Draft
Intro Script:
{00:00} Intro music, Plucky Daisy by Kevin MacLeod, 5 seconds and fade
{00:05} Seb: [Energetic] 'Welcome to the Sebtacular Podcast and today with me is Guest'
{00:12} Guest: [Enthusiastic] 'Happy to be here'
{00:16} Seb: [Energy continues] 'Today we will be discussing Orange is the New Black and our favourite characters from the production, 5 facts you might not know about the show, and we'll be hearing the public opinion of the premise of orange is the new black.
{00:27} Guest: 'I'm excited for this, I've been a fan of the series ever since it took the Netflix scene with by storm'

{00:27} Guest: 'I'm excited for this, I've been a fan of the series ever since it took the Netflix scene with by storm'
{00:32} *Cue storm/lightningvi*
{00:36} Seb: 'Guest 1, would you care to plug your social medias?'
{00:41} Guest: 'You can follow me at "not a real account" on Instagram.'
Question 1: Favourite Character:
{00:45} Seb: [Starting off] 'Well to start off, I shall be conducting an interview with you as I ask what is your favourite character?-.'
{00:52} Guest: [butting in] 'My favourite character is Caputo!'
{00:55} Seb: [Groans in disgust]
{00:56} Guest: [Eagerly] 'Hear me out. Joe Caputo has the best character development throughout the series for me. He goes from someone who sees the women he cares after as meat to someone who quits his job so they don't have to fave injustice. He was a negotiator throughout the riot in season 5 and, despite everything with mcc pushing him to do with Sophia Burset, was always on the side of the inmates with cases of CO's abusing their power.'
{01:22} Seb: [Aware that he was incorrect to judge] 'Okay fair enough'
{01:26} Guest: 'Exactly!'
{01:30} Seb: 'My favourite character would be Piper because she always butts into arguments and in season 6, she really tried to make prison a better place. Plus everyone hates her so I think she's worth the $35,000 she's paid every episode.
Five Facts about Orange is the New Black:
{01:45} Guest: 'Is it time for our 5 facts?'
{01:48} Seb: 'I would say so. Fact number one, are you ready?'
{01:52} Guest: 'I'm ready when you are'
{01:55} Seb: 'Number one: No character has appeared in every episode of Orange is the New Black. Not even the main (and best) character, Piper.
{02:03} Seb: 'Number two: Taylor Schilling had a main role in another drama tv series, placed in a hospital, called Mercy throughout 2009 and 2010.
{02:13} Guest: 'Number three: Orange is the New Black is the longest running Netflix original series.'
{02:19} Seb: 'Number four: Orange is the New Black was the most watched show on Netflix in 2013.'
{02:25} Seb: 'And Number five: Laura Prepon originally auditioned for the role of Piper Chapman but her black hair and glasses made her a perfect fit for the role of Alex Vause instead.
Vox Pops
